iPhone Email Setup
  • Tap the Settings icon

  • Mail, Contacts, Calendars

  • Add Account

  • Type: Other

  • Add Mail Account

  • Fill out Name, Email Address, Password

  • Switch the blue indicator at the top from IMAP to POP

  • Incoming Mail Server Settings:

  • Host Name: mail.pocketinet.com

  • User Name: example@pocketinet.com  <- Enter your email address here

  • Password  <- Enter your account password here

  • Outgoing Mail Server Settings:

  • Host Name: smtp.pocketinet.com

  • User Name: example@pocketinet.com  <- Enter your email address here

  • Password  <- Enter your account password here

  • Cannot Connect Using SSL (Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?) - Tap Yes

 
 
Outlook 2007
  • Open Outlook 2007

  • From the Tools menu select Account Settings. The Account Settings box appears.

  • Verify that the E-mail tab is selected. Your email account appears, usually labeled pop.pocketinet.com

  • Click on the account to highlight it, and click on the Change icon above it. The Change E-mail Settings appears.

  • Under the Server Information section, in the box marked Outgoing mail server (SMTP) verify smtp.pocketinet.com is entered.

  • Click the button More Settings... in the lower right-hand corner. The Internet Email Settings box appears.

  • Click on the tab Outgoing Server.

  • Click the check box My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, and verify that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.

  • Click on the tab Advanced.

  • Change the Outgoing server (SMTP): box to 587.

  • Click OK to close the Internet Email Settings box.

  • Click the Next, then Finish button to close the Change E-Mail Account window.

 
 
Windows Live Mail (Windows 7)
  • Open Windows Live Mail

  • From the Tools menu select Accounts.

  • Click the mail account to highlight it, then click the Properties button on the right.

  • Click the Servers tab at the top of the window.

  • Place a check-mark in the box labeled “My server requires authentication” Then click on the Settings button to the right.

  • Verify that the circle-box Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.

  • Click the Advanced tab

  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) box, enter 587.

  • Click OK on the bottom of the window. 

 

 

  • Outlook 2000/2003

  • Open Outlook. 

  • From the Tools menu, select Email Accounts. The Email Accounts box appears (internet accounts in outlook 2000).

  • Verify that  View or change existing email accounts is selected and click Next

  • Click on your email account, usually labeled  pop.pocketinet.com, and click the Change button on the right. The Internet Email Settings box will appear.

  • Under the Server Information section, in the box marked Outgoing mail server (SMTP) verify that it has smtp.pocketinet.com in it. 

  • If it has a different address in it, please call tech support at 509.526.5026

  • Click the button More Settings... in the lower right-hand corner.  The Internet Email Settings box appears.

  • Click the Outgoing Server tab. (Servers tab in outlook 2000)

  • Click the checkbox for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, and verify that the circle-box Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.

  • Click the Advanced tab

  • In the box next to “Outgoing server (SMTP):” ensure 587 is the only number entered

  • Click OK to close the Internet Email Settings box. 

  • Do not use the "Test Account Setting..." button to test the settings. This may fail.

  • Click the Finish button to close the Email Accounts box.  SMTP authentication has now been enabled.

Mac Mail 3.0
  • Open Mail.

  • From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.

  • Click the Accounts icon.

  • Click the arrow next to the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) pop-up list and choose Edit Server List.

  • In the white box at the top of the window select smtp.pocketinet.com under the Sever Name column.

  • Click the advanced button below the white box at the top of the pane.

  • Click the arrow box on the Authentication pop-up list and choose Password.

  • In the User Name field, type your full email address. (ex. test@pocketinet.com )

  • In the Password field, type your e-mail password.

  • Click the OK button.

  • Close the Accounts window.
